Frequently Asked Questions

What does 41Box add?

41Box is a mod of Slarmoo's Box, and has all of the same features that Slarmoo's Box has.

41Box's main new features are the new rhythms, which seen in the dropdown are: Quintuplets, Tenths, Fifteenths, Sixteenths, Twentieths, and Forty-Eighths.

41Box also adds the Half Diminished scale, along with some new presets. It is stated by the community that Polywaffle is the 'best' preset that was added to 41Box.

Is 41Box compatible with Slarmoo's Box (and Ultrabox)? Yes, 41Box will properly import all songs from Slarmoo's Box and Ultrabox.
Song importing will only work if you export the .json and import it manually, since changing the URL domain corrupts the song, but this is to be fixed in a later version of 41Box.
If you ever encounter any bugs with this please contact the developers at the link below
How do I add custom samples? Since 41Box doesn't have a web server of its own, you'll have to first upload your sample to a CORS-friendly website. Next, you have to copy the URL of the sound itself. The URL should end with the filetype, such as .wav or .mp3.

To import it into 41Box, open the Edit tab, scroll to the bottom, and click on "Add Custom Samples..." or press "shift + Q"

Paste your url and press "Okay." If everything goes smoothly, 41Box will reload and your sample will be available in the preset list.
Does 41Box have an offline version? Currently, 41Box does not have an offline version as of the latest release, but an offline version is planned.
Does 41Box claim ownership over songs created with it? 41Box does not claim ownership over songs created with it, so original songs belong to their authors.

Neither 41Box nor its creators assume responsibility for any copyrighted material played on 41Box. No songs are ever received, recorded, or distributed by 41Box's servers. All song data is contained in the URL after the hash (#) mark, and 41Box running inside your browser converts that data into sound waves.
When will x feature be added? Features can be requested at the link below, but after that it's up to 41popzic to work on features if/when they can.
Note that 41popzic very rarely chooses to add requested features and prefers to work on the features that they enjoy making instead. Contributions are welcome though, and can be made at the link below.
Please be patient; 41popzic works on 41Box in their free time. They can't guarantee that anything will be out in a timely manner, or at all.
Where can I contact the developers? You can contact the developers via the BeepBox Modding Discord, if you have ideas for 41Box, or bugs found.
